About Psychotherapy
Just as people experience medical problems such as a cold or the flu, sometimes emotional and behavioral problems
arise. This often occurs during periods of stress and transition.
Therapyworks provides psychotherapy for people with mental health difficulties, which often present during the course of otherwise normal growth and development.
From psychiatric journals to Consumer Reports, psychotherapy has repeatedly been shown to help people get through a variety of emotional problems more quickly and thoroughly, compared to no treatment and/or medical treatment alone.
What is psychotherapy and when is it useful?
Psychotherapy is a joint effort to improve understanding and control of troublesome thoughts, feelings and behaviors that lead to personal or interpersonal problems. During the course of therapy, our primary goal is to help you make changes and find solutions that diminish emotional and behavioral problems.
What about psychotherapy with children?
Psychotherapy with children usually involves using play materials and/or more action-oriented interventions like behavior management programs. Because all kids
think and act differently than adults, child therapy often involves building bridges of understanding, cooperation and connection.
