How to Focus on EFT Practitioners: Your Perfect Clients Are Waiting Dedicated to Helping You Build Your EFT Practice.
To subscribe, go to www.EFTTips.com From Carol Solomon, Ph.D., PCC Dear EFT Practitioner, You've invested time and money learning your trade. And we all know how transformative EFT can be. You know that you can make a difference in the lives of so many people who need your skills and talents. Now it's time to market your practice so that you can use your skills, do what you love doing, and make a difference in the world. "I love EFT, but I hate to market myself!" Some people just don't like to market themselves. It conjures up images of "Big Al" selling cars. Other people simply don't have time. You CAN stay busy and avoid marketing altogether. And it's so easy to get so caught up in working IN our business . . . doing all the things that keep us busy, and we just continue to keep working, without getting any further ahead or building any equity. Being a helping professional is like that. When you are working, it's like running on a treadmill. As long as you are running, the treadmill keeps turning, but as soon as you stop, it stops turning and you are no further ahead. Personally, I think that what we do as EFT practitioners and as coaches is beyond the value of money. But you DO have to market your practice in order to have a steady stream of clients, a steady stream of income, and be able to do the work you love. The best way to do that is to build equity for your efforts, to develop systems that have LASTING value, and make your business easier, more fun . . . and more profitable. Don't you just hate it when you you know the value of EFT, but you just aren't sure how to reach more people? And to make matters worse, you have to work even harder to attract the clients you want? When I was at the Denver EFT bootcamp last summer, I kept hearing practitioners say "I have a part-time practice and I want to have more of a full-time practice." So I talked to Gary about offering a series of classes for coaches, therapists and EFT practitioners who want to build their practices. If you aren't seeing enough clients, it's not because EFT doesn't work . . . it's because your reach isn't big enough. If you are anything like me, once people try EFT, they love it! In fact, it often changes their lives forever. So how do we reach more people? A lot of marketing efforts are just wasted time. Take your website, for instance. You do have one, don't you? Websites can be a continuous source of new clients. Or they can be time and money down the drain. Many websites are ineffective (and I am being nice :-). Stop and ask yourself if you've ever wished that your website could have people racing to the phone and calling you right away. Sure, everyone has -- but that rarely happens. Well the good news is . . . I have been helping therapists and coaches build their practices for the past 3 years. I built my own practice 6 years ago almost entirely using the internet. And I started with NO technical knowledge -- I was a complete computer dunce. In fact, I could barely send an email. And I made plenty of mistakes too. But I must have done something right because I got 25 new clients from my website the first year. Now, I don't know where you are in your practice, you may be a brand new practitioner or a few years into your practice, making it, but still frustrated because you aren't getting any further ahead. No matter where you are in your practice right now, it helps to really think about where you want your practice to go and start developing a plan to get there. Marketing is basically about: 1. finding potential clients 2. scheduling initial consultations and 3. contracting with them to provide sessions. Using the internet allows you to focus on creating predictable systems and build marketing assets that help clients find you. Some people even wonder if there are enough clients to go around. For as long as there are problems, there will always be a need for practitioners to help. And as far as I can see, there is no shortage of problems! If you are going to have a sustainable business (yes, having an EFT practice is a business!), you need: 1. A success-oriented mindset. Building your business is not about self-promotion. In fact, the exact opposite is true. It's about downplaying yourself in your marketing and focusing exclusively on your potential clients. 2. Skills and knowledge -- both EFT and business/marketing skills. BOTH of these areas are important. You can be the most skilled EFT practitioner in the world, but if you don't learn the marketing skills, you'll never be able to grow your business. 3. Consistent implementation -- yes, it does take consistent action on your part. It won't happen on it's own. But you will be working to develop systems that consistently build equity in your business and make things easier for you over time. So what comes first -- the money or the mindset? Well . . . you need both. Sometimes we are so busy working IN our businesses that we forget about the mindset. You can't let that happen. And there IS a specific mindset to adopt in order to market yourself successfully. Wouldn't it be nice if you could build it and they WILL come? It's never quite that simple -- it does take work. And to me it's well worth it to help your perfect clients find you. ANNOUNCING . . .
